Portland Land and Sea Tour

This is a can't miss! There is truly no better way to see the fall foliage than on the boat ride through the harbor. Want to learn more about the history of Portland? The bus tour is a great way to get an overview of the city. Plus it stops at the Portland Headlight!

This was the first thing we did when we moved to Portland and it was a great introduction to this wonderful part of Maine.

Take a Drive on the Kancamagus Scenic Byway

Try to say that three times fast. This scenic drive is a must do if you are going to be here for a few days. This drive is spectacular during the fall. Leaf Peepers come to drive this highways every year. There are plenty of places to stop along the way. Take a quick hike up to a waterfall or look out over the expansive vistas. You truly can't go wrong. The photo here doesn't even do this drive justice.

This is definitely a day trip. It takes about two hours to get to the other side of the highway (and that is if you are hustling). Take your time and enjoy the scenery.

Marginal Way in Ogunquit

Take a walk along the Marginal Way path in Ogunquit. The path is about a mile each way with food options at either end of the path.

Smiling Hill Farm-- Amanda's Fave!

Want to spend an afternoon feeding goats? Of course you do. Smiling Hill Farm has a great sandwich and ice cream stand, but the real reason you go is for the goats.

Run of the Mill

Three words. Beer. Cheese. Soup.

Run of the Mill is a really cool restaurant in Saco. Enjoy a lunch break while looking out onto the Saco River.

Take a Hike

Portland has a really great trail network. The weather should still be nice enough to take a walk through the leaves!
